Clergy at St Dyfrig's, Treforest

Fr Gareth Leyshon

St Dyfrig's is served by Fr Gareth Leyshon, who came to the parish as a deacon in October 2006 and was ordained priest at St Dyfrig's in May 2007. Since October 2007 he has been responsible for the running of the parish, and is now formally its Administrator.

Prior to ordination, Fr Gareth was a professional scientist. He received a PhD from the University of Wales in 1999 for a study of dust in distant galaxies. At seminary he completed a dissertation on Purgatory, and did extensive research on the New Age movement from a Catholic perspective.
