Praying in St Dyfrig's Parish

Morning Prayer

Eucharistic Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

Pray and Play

Morning Prayer

We pray Morning Prayer together as a parish community each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:30am, before our 9.45am Mass.

The Morning Prayer is from the Liturgy of the Hours (a.k.a. the 'Divine Office'), the public prayer of the Church.

Eucharistic Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

MonstranceAccording to the Catholic Church, Jesus is present in the Eucharist in a unique way.  During Eucharistic Adoration we can pray before the exposed Body of Christ – this is an intimate setting for prayer. Adoration is typically carried out in silence, which allows each visitor to pray in their own way.

In our parish, Eucharistic Adoration follows Mass on Friday mornings, and continues until Benediction at 2pm.

Pray and Play

What is Pray & Play?

We are a group of parents, grandparents and pre-school children (older children are also welcome), who meet every Tuesday morning in the parish hall. There is no charge and the group is open to all!

Praying Hands

What do we do?

We read and chat about the forthcoming Sunday gospel, whilst our children play and do simple crafts. At the close of each week we pray for our families, friends and wider community, writing down the names of any children (young and old) we wish to be remembered; even the children are asked who they would like to pray for. After our time of prayer, we walk over to the church together and place the basket of names before the altar of Our Lord.

What does it cost?

Nothing! We are a free group, open to all. Children are always welcome but you don't need a child to join us! The kettle is always on and plenty of tea & coffee is provided.

When do you meet?

We meet every Tuesday, term-time and holidays,
St Dyfrig's Hall Annex at 10:15am.

Our door is never locked. Please come and join us.
