ST DYFRIG'S SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY
St Vincent de Paul - Monthly ReportWe continue this month, to visit our housebound parishioners or others who have been brought to our attention. If you know of anyone we are not aware of who might welcome a visit and a chat – they do not have to be a Catholic or indeed church-going – please put their details in the SVP box in the Narthex. We are in contact with Age Concern Morgannwg and also the Sheltered Housing Office. It is hoped to find out more about their work to our mutual benefit. A lady from Age Concern will be coming to our June meeting for that purpose. She has asked us to advertise their Easter Party, on April 21st. Please see the Poster in the Narthex for details. They also offer a Nail Cutting Service. Details also displayed in the Narthex. We have been able to put Gwalia the local Housing Association for the homeless, in touch with the SVP furniture store in Bridgend, from which, along with items kindly donated by parishioners, they have been able to provide furniture and fittings for their newly-housed homeless clients. Many thanks to all who have helped in this way. We are hoping to help a local Food Bank, which provides items of food, free of charge to those in desperate need. If you feel you could donate items of non-perishable foods to this cause, there is a box in the Narthex to collect such goods. Many thanks. We would always welcome new members to join us. More people would mean more visits for those who find it difficult to leave their home, would like a friendly ear or are just plain lonely. If you feel you would like to join us in this or any of the work we do, please contact any member of the SVP or just come along to our next meeting - Wednesday, 27th April at 7.00 o’clock in the Presbytery – you would be made very welcome. Many thanks. Richard Boyle (President) , & Cath Carroll (Secretary) .
