"HERE I AM, LORD. USE ME AS YOU WILL. " |
ST DYFRIG'S SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY
Welcome to the St Dyfrig's St Vincent De Paul Society (SVP) web page. The St Dyfrig's SVP was set up in January 2010 to help the members of St Dyfrig's Parish to more effectively live out their Christian responsibility to serve the needy of the parish, under the guidance of the parish's priest-in-charge, Fr Gareth Leyshon.
The SVP visits people, extends the hand of friendship, provides a sympathetic ear and practical help. This may include limited help towards the cost of essential items in emergency situations.
The SVP responds to direct requests for help from individuals and families and to referrals from third parties as long as the referral has been made with the client's permission.
When members understand the nature of the problems facing the people they visit, they can help them access relevant SVP projects, State services, and other agencies who may be able to provide support and assistance.
SVP aims to help people and does not discriminate on the basis of religious belief, race, disability or sexual orientation. Clients are assured of confidentiality at all times.
If you should like to know more about the work of the SVP then please click on this link to visit the SVP website on www.svp.org.uk .
St Dyfrig's SVP meets on the last Wednesday of each month in the presbytery. Its officers are:
Anna Rees (President);
Lesley Hughes (Treasurer); and
Ian Rees (Secretary).
New members are welcome to help with this important work.
Alternatively, should you wish to meet someone confidentially to discuss a problem please contact either Anna or Ian Rees on 01443 205105 or Father Gareth Leyshon at St Dyfrig's Church.
ANNA REES (Mrs) President St Dyfrig's Saint Vincent De Paul Society.
