St Dyfrig's is across the road from the Treforest, Taff House Bus Stops on this Google Map.
By road from London, West Wales, Cardiff and all directions other than Merthyr Tydfil.
Take the M4 to Junction 32, the Coryton Interchange, where you take the A470 Northbound to Merthyr. (Or if starting from central Cardiff, pick up the A470 towards Methyr and cross the M4.)
Take the FOURTH exit after the M4, which is signposted for the University of Glamorgan, also Llantrisant A473. The slip road brings you on to a roundabout. Take the FIRST exit and get into the right hand lane.
Immediately you will see a church ahead. This is St Dyfrig’s. To access the car park you will need to follow the one-way system clockwise and make an almost complete circuit of the church. Turn right at Domino’s Pizza on to the access road (Heathfield Villas). There is parking beyond the white church hall as well as between the hall and the church. Once this is full, you must rely on on-street parking.
By road from Merthyr Tydfil.
Take the A470 southbound, signposted Cardiff.
Look for the exit signposted for the University of Glamorgan, also Llantrisant A473.
The road system is complex, but keep following signs for the University until you are on Broadway. You will pass the “World of Groggs” and a Total Petrol Station on your right. Then look out for Domino’s Pizza immediately ahead. As soon as you go through the pedestrian crossing, get into the right hand lane and turn sharp right into Heathfield Villas at Domino’s. This is the access road to the church car parks. If you have driven past the church patio and entrance doors, you have missed the turning, so go round the roundabout again.
Travel by Train
Parking near the church is limited. If coming to a large event from a distance, travel by rail is recommended – Treforest station is only 2 minutes’ walk from the church. Trains to Treforest run from Cardiff Central, taking 20-25 minutes. Note that some trains also stop at “Treforest Estate” – this is NOT the station you want.
On arrival at Treforest Station, take the street exit from the southbound platform (if arriving on a train from Cardiff use the footbridge). Turn left on to the street. Walk for about a minute and a half, until you reach the Post Office. Here you can see St Dyfrig's directly in front of you. The easiest way into the grounds is to turn sharp right into the alley at the post box, sharp left at the end of the alley, and through the underpass on your left.
For train times, see NationalRail – Treforest is station code TRF.
